A different kind of depth work
Welcome to Emerald Grove Psychotherapy. I work with thoughtful, high-functioning adults who may appear capable on the outside but find themselves caught in patterns they cannot quite think their way out of.
My work is relational, existential, and depth-oriented. Rather than approaching you as a collection of symptoms to eliminate, I am interested in understanding the whole person: what shaped you, what helped you survive, what keeps repeating, and what your life may be asking of you now.
I believe therapy works best when it becomes a place where you can stop performing and become increasingly honest about who you are. The therapeutic relationship itself gives us an opportunity to notice patterns as they emerge, experiment with something different, and carry that freedom into your life outside the room.
My own path has included military service, teaching yoga, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, and work in psychedelic preparation and integration. Those experiences inform a practice grounded in curiosity, complexity, meaning, embodiment, and a deep respect for the many ways people find their way back to themselves.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong. We can begin with what is asking for your attention.
We may work well together if you are curious about yourself, willing to look beneath the obvious explanation, and ready to participate actively in your own change. You do not need to be perfectly regulated, certain, or fearless. You do need to be willing to get honest.
I offer psychotherapy to residents of North Carolina. If you are outside of the state and are interested in life coaching services, please visit www.emeraldgrove.coach.
